Food Safety Regulations Updated: OAZVITA BIOTECH Strengthens Compliance Measures
Aug 30, 2025
Recently, the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) and relevant authorities in China announced updates to the Food Safety Law of the People’s Republic of China and revisions to several National Food Safety Standards (GB Standards). The updates place stronger emphasis on raw material traceability, production process control, product claims, and labeling requirements. These changes reflect the continuous strengthening of food safety supervision and set higher compliance expectations for companies engaged in functional foods and plant extracts.
According to the revised regulations and standards, such as GB 7718-2011 (General Rules for the Labeling of Prepackaged Foods) and GB 2760 (Standards for the Use of Food Additives), functional food manufacturers must focus on:
Raw Material Traceability – Ensuring legal and transparent sourcing of all plant-based raw materials, with complete traceability records, in line with Article 34 of the Food Safety Law.
Process Quality Control – Strict adherence to ISO22000/HACCP systems to minimize potential food safety risks, consistent with requirements for food production licensing.
Labeling and Claims Management – Compliance with GB 28050-2011 (General Rules for Nutrition Labeling of Prepackaged Foods) to ensure that claims are scientific, accurate, and not misleading.
Regular Testing and Evaluation – Enhanced third-party testing and internal monitoring, ensuring product safety and consistency, supported by long-term surveillance systems.
In response, OAZVITA BIOTECH promptly organized compliance training and developed targeted measures to address the new requirements. The company reinforced supplier auditing in raw material sourcing, implemented stricter production monitoring, and thoroughly reviewed product labeling and marketing claims to ensure full alignment with updated regulations.
“Food safety is OAZVITA’s top priority,” the management team stated. “We are committed to full compliance with the Food Safety Law and all relevant GB standards. Beyond regulatory compliance, our mission is to earn the trust of customers and partners through transparency and uncompromising quality.”
Moving forward, OAZVITA BIOTECH will closely monitor regulatory developments from SAMR and the China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment (CFSA). By continuously refining internal management systems, the company aims to support the sustainable growth of the plant extract and functional food industries with a scientific and rigorous approach.
